Ken Billyard was born in Sale in Cheshire in 1943. He studied art at Newcastle University from 1962-66. He taught for several years at college in Salford. He showed at Chester Arts and Portico Library in Manchester. His major work was the design for a huge mural on the side of the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester. Unfortunately he was killed in a car crash in 1979 and the mural had to be executed by another artist.
