Nothing known. I have the feeling it might be by someone famous. Thats partly based on the style and the quality of the frame (which has seen better days). If it was done by am amateur I don’t think anyone would have put it in such a relatively fancy frame

Arthur Spooner (1873 -1961) is perhaps the best known Nottingham artist whose works have fetched up to £198,000 at auction. He is listed in “Artists in Britain since 1945”

Artist’s Details:         

Baptiste Bolzano was born in France in 1964. He is registered as an artist and won the bronze medal at the Salon International MCA in Marseille and a silver medal at the same salon in Cannes. The painting is deceptively simple and that style can so easily go wrong. However this really works and conveys the atmosphere of the scene.

Artist’s Details:  

David Evans was born in London in 1929 and died in a road accident in 1988. He trained at the Central Scholl of Arts and Crafts. After a number of commissions he began painting in watercolours and gouache in 1967 but did not show them until 1973 when they were included in a mixed show at Deben Gallery in Woodbridge. Later on he had one man shows at the Redfern and McMurray Galleries..
